AHS Tour of Mr. Duez's Room - 2014

Trying something new this year.
Thought this might be nice for parents. Or for students to show someone what our room looks like. :)
The view out of our back window in 1207.
The view just inside the door in the front of the classroom looking towards the assignment board.

Funny Email

Got this email tonight from a former WHAP and future AP Psych student:
"I saw you the other day on television! I didn't think I would see you again until school started back up again!
Many people wanted me to share this with you, so I hope you get a good laugh or two! Have a great day/night!
Sincerely,
B~"
Pretty funny. The pic on the right is what they sent me, but I figured it looked more like Colonel Sanders & Donald Sutherland combined. But, come to think of it, I love both of those guys.

So, be it. "Let the Southern Fried Chicken Games Begin!"

50 Great Myths - Summer Presentation & Video Lecture

Notes - 50 Great Myths - Summer Presentation
YouTube Video - AP Psych - Summer Reading - 50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology

These two links will take you to a Google Slides Presentation & YouTube Lecture video that discusses the summer reading text, "50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology". While reading the book, keep in mind these questions and jot down your responses as notes. Bring them to class during the first week of the semester:
You can do it!
Best of luck in reading through the book. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you find it interesting, helpful, and hopefully inspiring. Many of the same topics will be addressed during our look at Psychology this semester.

Also, be sure that when you pick up your textbook (if you get it at Flight School this summer), that you get the correct book. You should have "Psychology: Themes & Variations" by Wayne Weiten Edition 9E. Here is a picture of what the book looks like:
Weiten is brand new in spring 2014! Great book!
Enjoy the remainder of your summer (or winter break for the spring semester students).
Looking forward to meeting many of you and absolutely excited to have those students who are returning to me from WHAP. It will be awesome to continue our journey together this semester.
